Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP's Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins took to the start of the Grand Prix of Germany Sprint in P6 and P18 respectively. Quartararo pushed on with a consistent pace, managing to hold onto a top-10 finish as he crossed the line in P9 after a largely solitary race, while Rins made the most of his 15-lap outing, gaining valuable data and two positions to finish in P16.

Starting from P6 on the newly wider spaced MotoGP grid, Quartararo made a strong launch off the line and fought hard to defend his position through the opening lap. Despite his efforts, the Frenchman was shuffled back two places into eight position during the early stages of the race. Staying composed, he maintained a consistent pace throughout the Sprint and ultimately crossed the line in ninth place overall.

Rins, who started from P18, battled throughout the opening stages of the Sprint race. On lap six, he was able to execute a strong pass to climb into 17th, before a crash from Franco Morbidelli promoted him to P16 – a position he held onto until the end of the race.

After today's Sprint, Quartararo stays in 14th place in the championship standings with 46 points, while Rins stays in 19th overall with 19 points. Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP are in 10th position in the team classification with 65 points, and Yamaha is 5th in the constructor rankings with 60 points.

The team will be back in action tomorrow for Warm Up, held from 09:40-09:50 (GMT+2), and the 30-lap Race, which starts at 14:00.

"Fabio really did put together a good day. Starting from Q1, he moved into Q2 and then he did a really good lap. Although it was not one of the most interesting Sprint races of the season – for everybody – we still got the maximum out of our package. Álex had to start from further back. He decided to try to race with the medium tyre, and he had to pay for it in terms of grip on the opening laps. He was able to gain a few positions later on, and he gathered good information for tomorrow's Race, as everybody will be using the medium rear tyre."

"It was a good qualifying, much better than expected, and how the Sprint went was basically my goal. It was a great day. Of course, we want more, but I think we achieved the maximum possible today. We made a step compared to yesterday. What we changed helped, and from the beginning I felt better."

"It was not bad. Racing with the medium tyre was fun because I saw a couple of riders come towards me. The soft one was not an option for me, but with the medium I could enjoy the Sprint a little bit and collect some data for tomorrow. It will be a long race tomorrow. With the medium, you will have to manage the tyre – it's not going to be easy – but we may have more chances."
