Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team Head to Misano for Home-from-Home Round
The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team travelled to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for Round 14 of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship, the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera.

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team are looking forward to the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera, which they regard as a second home round. Riders Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins are gearing up for the upcoming double header, which wraps up the European leg before the overseas rounds.
Quartararo enters the beloved Misano circuit in fifteenth place in the overall standings. The track holds a special place in his heart, it having been the venue where he secured the 2021 MotoGP World Championship title. The Frenchman has visited the MotoGP podium in Misano twice up till now, finishing second in both 2019 and 2021 at the San Marino GP.
Rins is currently 20th in the championship standings. Misano has also proven to be a successful track for him, particularly in the lower classes. He claimed Moto3 victories there in 2013 and 2014 and secured second place in Moto2 in 2016. The Spaniard's best MotoGP result at the circuit came in 2018 when he finished fourth.
The Misano circuit, constructed in 1972, was a regular venue for Italian Grands Prix throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. Following an extensive renovation to meet MotoGP safety regulations, the 4.23 km track returned to the MotoGP calendar in 2007 and has stayed on it since. It was renamed in 2012 in honour of Marco Simoncelli. The clockwise circuit features six left and ten right corners, with a chicane contributing to the exciting layout that fans and riders enjoy.
