Álvaro Carpe began racing motorcycles at the age of four, following an unexpected introduction to the sport through his older brother Antonio. After spotting a newspaper advertisement, Antonio went to try mini motos. Álvaro accompanied him and, after watching the session, insisted that he wanted to ride too. When the instructor eventually agreed to let him try, it marked the beginning of Álvaro's own racing journey. Alongside motorcycle racing, he also competed in the Spanish Junior Jet Ski Championship before focusing on his development on two wheels.
Álvaro Carpe progressed through the Spanish racing categories, finishing in the top 3 of the Spanish MiniGP110 Championship in 2017. The following year, he made his debut in the Spanish Moto5 Championship, ending the season third overall. In 2019, he finished third in the Spanish MiniGP190 Championship and also competed in the Spanish Moto4 Championship, gaining further experience as he moved towards international competition.
In 2020, Carpe stepped up to the Hawkers European Talent Cup, securing a second place at Aragón. He continued in the category in 2021, claiming two victories at Valencia and finishing fifth in the championship. The following season, he moved to the FIM JuniorGP World Championship, where he continued to adapt to a higher level of competition.
The 2023 season marked an important step forward. Álvaro Carpe claimed his first podium in JuniorGP and finished third in the championship, with four podium finishes. At the same time, he made his debut in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, finishing runner-up with two victories and earning the Rookie of the Year award. These results established him among the leading young riders in the junior categories.
Álvaro reached a major milestone in 2024, winning both the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and the FIM JuniorGP World Championship. By securing both titles in the same season, he joined a select group of riders to achieve the double. His performances earned him a wildcard appearance with Red Bull KTM Ajo at the Solidarity Grand Prix in Barcelona, where he made his debut in the Moto3 World Championship.
In 2025, Carpe joined Red Bull KTM Ajo for his first full season in Moto3. He adapted quickly to Grand Prix racing, scoring his first World Championship podium in Thailand and going on to achieve five podium finishes during the season. He also secured his first Moto3 pole position at Mugello and finished fourth in the overall standings with 215 points. His results contributed to Red Bull KTM Ajo winning the Teams’ Championship.
In 2026, Carpe continued his development with Red Bull KTM Ajo, establishing himself as one of the leading contenders in the Moto3 category. So far this season, the Spaniard has added multiple podium finishes to his résumé (three second places and four third places), is consistently fighting at the front, and remains firmly in contention in the battle for the Vice Champion title, sitting in fourth place in the standings.
In 2027, Álvaro Carpe will take the next step in his career by making his debut in the Moto2 World Championship with BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2. The move to the intermediate category will mark a new stage in his progression through the Grand Prix classes as he continues to build experience at world championship level.
